FIRST AWARD
NAINI group has been conferred with many awards and recognitions for transforming its good qualities into action, keeping the environment friendly processes intact. Environment Management Award – 2007 NPL was given the first Environment Protection Award by Uttarakhand Environment Protection and Pollution Control Board (UEPPCB) in 2004. NPL was the first agro-based kraft paper mill in the country to install “Soda Recovery Plant” (Cope-Land Process). After its success, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) made it mandatory for all the agro-based kraft paper mills in the country to install this plant. Environment Protection Award – 2005 NTL was awarded Environment Protection Award in 2005 by UEPPCB for the commendable work done in Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP).
The effluent discharged from the mill meets the stringent pollution control norms. Water Management Award – 2007 NTL was conferred with the “National Award for Excellence in Water management” in 2007 by Confederation of Indian Industries. This award is in recognition to the monumental work done by the plant to reduce the utilization of fresh water. The fresh water consumption in both the group companies is only 70 KL per Ton of paper.
AMAR UJALA EXCELLENCE AWARD
Naini Group of Industries is delighted to share with its stakeholders and well – wishers that the Group’s Managing Director, Mr Pawan Agarwal has been conferred the “Excellence in Environmental Care” award by Amar Ujala in a grand ceremony organized at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi on 16th September, 2017.
The coveted award was given away by the galaxy of Union Ministers – Shri Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Commerce, Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Ms. Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, and Shri Satyapal Singh, Minister of State for HRD.
The other notable awardees in the ceremony were Film Director Shri Subhash Ghai, Classical Kathak Dancer Mrs. Shobhna Narain, and Chipko Movement activist Shri Chandi Prasad Bhatt who were given “Lifetime Achievement Award.”
Mr Pawan Agarwal was duly recognized for his efforts towards environment protection and pollution abatement. His contribution in implementing environment friendly technologies at various stages of paper manufacturing like Soda Recovery Plant, Oxygen Delignification, Oxygen Bleaching, Shoe Press in paper machine, Bio-methanation Plant and Tertiary Treatment of effluent were duly recognized. The accomplishment of the group companies to reduce consumption of fresh water to the lowest levels of less than 40 Cubic Meter per Ton of paper (in similar type of industries) was especially lauded. The efforts of Mr. Agarwal in formulating and successfully implementing the “Charter for Paper Mills of Ganga River Basin” to reduce the pollution levels in the holy river by almost 60% got special mention by the award committee.

World Consulting & Research Corporation (WCRC) awarded Pawan Agarwal, Managing Director, Naini Group as “Inspirational Leader-2018” at a glittering award ceremony, IDEAFEST-2018 held at Hotel Sahara Star, Mumbai. Honourable Cabinet Minister, Mahadev Jankar, Government of Maharashtra presented the award on 27th August, 2018. Pawan Agarwal dedicated this award to the entire Naini Family.
